A friend, Sean, had the opportunity to get out to the Juiced track day at Taupo Motorsport park. He took some excellent photos, so I thought it'd be worth him doing a write up to share the day with all of us who couldn't be there. Words and pictures all credit to Sean Clarke. Chur bruddah. Let's hope he stays on as guest contributor/photographer.
So we packed up the camera gear and headed down to Taupo Motorsport Park to attend the Juiced Track Day held on the 21.08.11. Now this is the first time I have seen drifting face to face and boy was it an experience. You can watch as many video's online but nothing beats being there, hearing the RB's on the limiter, seeing tyres exploding and the smell of the smoke.
(Luke: YEEEEEAH BRYCE!! RIP DAT SHIT)
All the way to big build sponsored cars.
This corolla wagon was pushing hard all day and was packing a SR20DET.
And this Cefiro was rowdy and the driver definitely had skills.
This was my first time taking action shots so i was trying to get the hang of panning.
After lunch, the drivers were getting more confident and some close battles followed.
I'm not quite sure what was in this S15, but it sounded like a V8, and had smoke pouring off it the whole track.
This driver was out most of the day, and loved putting on a bit of a show for the cameras.
Tough AE86. Again i'm not sure what was in this, but it wasn't a 4AGE bark like i was expecting. Maybe another SR20.
This KP on semi's actually had an EJ20 Subaru motor shoehorned in there.
And here is another KP, but on the other side of the spectrum. So clean.
Thats all from me,

Here is a particularly friendly dog that was sniffing around the pits and lounging in the Taupo sun.
