Spotted: Audi RS2 Avant

So at a party I was at a while ago, this car rolls up. I've never laid eyes on one before. It's an Audi RS2 Avant.

Based on the Audi 80 Avant it was Audi's first 'RS' badged monster. Full of obviously branded Porsche parts including intake manifolds and of course the brakes, pictured below. With a 5 cylinder 2.2litre turbocharged donk under the hood it makes for 315hp from factory.... not bad for a mid 90's family wagon! It'd certainly be enough power for passengers to shit themselves when the driver is chopping through all 6 gears and using that Quattro 4wd system to the max....

Anyways - the owner - Nik was a real GC and could talk all day about his blue beauty. The story of how it came to be in his posession is actually quite cool. He had seen it around before and it was previously owned by a company. He saw the company went into liquidation, so rang the liquidators and hounded them about the car, they didn't give much detail. Then from what i remember of our conversation (it was crate day and I was a few bottles down so this recollection could be rather hazy) a mate of his called him from a local mechanic. His mate had spotted this car there, so he went and had a look at it while the Mechanic had it, then found it was going up for auction, so went and bought it. After wanting one of these for most of his life, he definitely bought a good one. And he was lucky to get one at all considering there is only about 10 or so in the country........

Here's the drunkenly taken pics - YAY CRATE DAY.

The owner of this car, Nik, also tells me he is an admin on the forum for Audi's and VW's.

A whole lot more information about these rare cars is also available HERE and HERE if you are keen for some further reading.

Eyes will be peeled and the camera will be out over the Xmas/New Year period, hunting for all things that go Bwarp.

Spotted: E30 BMW

A couple of weeks back I spotted this tidy E30 BMW parked up outside my work. I snapped a couple of pics on my phone to post up.

Wendy's Cruise, Meats and lulz

What an eventful evening!!

Great turn out, intense food, sweet yarns, decent weather, and a nice short drive along the coast line.

Oh - and some Paraparaumu loony who went apeshit cos there was too many cars in the carpark, and it meant she had to go through drive through. good times.

Anyway - enough of the bullshit....! more photos!

Port Road Drags 2011 through the eyes of J-Drizzle.

j-Drizzle - up and coming Bwarp photographer

So last week the Port Road Drags were on and Barry at Burgerfuel Johnsonville spotted me a couple of free tickets to get in there for the day. While I was busy getting brutally sunburnt, I handed the camera over to resident shit talker - JD. Here's what he saw through the lens.

National Crate day

Geoff here, wholey crap, 2 posts in 2 days, shits goin' down in Bwarp.

Within the car culture we see a lot of drinking. There are a lot of bad drinking where fools drink too many then decide to drive home (Queue ghost chips ad), but once in a while there are occasions when you need to do something manly on your car with mates and usually beers or bourbans are involved along with black singlets and open faced work boots/jandals.

So here brings another National Crate day this Saturday brought to you by The Rock and yet another suitable occasion for you to all work on your cars while drinking that cool refreshing taste of cheap piss. The weather is looking quite good and is forecasted to be sunny here in Wellignton at 15 degrees.

Be a good day to wash your car, polish your warehouse chrome hubcaps, add another layer of matte black to your labour of love or even install some new shocks in my car...*hint hint* So what are you doing? What car might you be working on?

And remember kids, definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY dont drink and drive.*

I think I'm in love

I don't think I've posted here this side of the financial year... perhaps there's room for improvement.

I was browsing round the net on other than the usual XXX car sites, and stumbled upon a site which has to be the most butt clenchingly amazing car blogs I've ever read.

Featuring: Engineered to slide

If you havent seen what this guy is doing, you need to, like yeterday. He's an absolute inspiration to every car enthusiast in the world. I haven't yet managed to read the entire thing, my fingers were getting sore from scrolling and clicking because there's just so much this guy has done! The latest thing that got me hooked to this guy was a hilux build he's putting together. It's not much... just a fully tubed chassis, custom engineered knuckles, floor pan, engine mounts... I'm salivating just thinking about it.

If you cant click on links at work or whatever, here's a few pictures just to demonstrate what this guy is up to.

Hopefully be making a few more contributions once my green things jumped into life.

Catch you all round,

Wendys meet 7th December

Damn it seems like we eat a lot of fast food. Fat pricks are us....

Anyway - the Wendy's meet seemed like a happening thing gauging by the interest received on the Facebook page.

So details as per the poster above.

If you are planning on coming please take note - as we will be running along the motorway - there is no need for you to try and race every car that pulls up next to you. We are more interested in getting to Wendys without police trouble and without watching a Subaru Impreza and a Honda Integra become a SuHonbaruda Impreintegzara due to playing silly buggers.

So usual story goes - provided you have a good attitude and don't have a deathwish when driving, you should totally come along!

See you there - PEACE

Last BWARP meet of 2011. Few extra pics.

I have attended almost all of the Bwarp monthly meets and it has been an awesome thing to be apart of this year. I have met some genuine, down to earth people through these events and I hope that they are bigger and better next year, which I am sure they will be.
This was actually the first time I had pulled out my camera at one of these meets, and Luke suggested I throw some pics up.

We rolled out from the J-ville carpark and headed to an underground one in P-town.

Bwarp Burgerfuel Meet - 23 November - PHOTOS PART TWOOOOO

Velcome to post number 100 of

Long time coming. Starting out as a blog amongst a few mates taking the piss, to something that now successfully holds a monthly meet where a bunch of GC's come out have some burgers, have a yarn and fap on about cars. I love this shit!

To celebrate this 100th post - there was a bit of a photoshoot held in an underground carpark somewhere in the vicinty of Porirua after we had demo'd some burgers with our mates at Burgerfuel Johnsonville.

Here's the pics.

Bwarp Burgerfuel Meet - 23 November 2011 - PHOTOS - PART ONE

Holla sup.

Final Bwarp Burgerfuel Meet for the 2011 year was off the hook.

The rain held out, the wind fucked off for a bit and the burgers were superb.

Heaps of new faces came out, met some new GC's and fapped over some pretty interesting technology.

Here's the pics!

Quick Snaps: Classic Motorcycle Racing.

Here's a couple of picture's from a classic motorcycle racing event I went to at Manfeild on the 19th of November.
Went down and assisted my father with his Yamaha TZ350a (Number 50)
His bike is a production racing bike which came out as an out of the box race bike first produced in 1973. It makes 63hp and I timed him doing a 1.28. Not bad for a 38 year old bike with old technology.

Until next time,
Sean Clarke.

Burgerfuel Meet 26 October 2011 - PHOTODUMP

The weather was a bit... well.... wet on Wednesday night for the Monthly Burgerfuel Meet....

Aparently that doesn't turn a large group of people off, because the turnout to this meet was still superb. Shout out to the kids from for rolling out for a feed and a yarn too.

As usual we chilled and ate our Wednesday night roast. The weather was shit, so we didn't stand round fapping over Kerri's rotang for long before a smaller group of us convoyed out to an undisclosed location in Pori-vegas. (What a bustling metropolis it is...)

Here's some shots:

4 & Rotary Super Show - Auckland 22nd October 2011

Me and the Mrs planned ourselves a trip up north over labour weekend. When we booked this trip, I was not aware that it would also be finals weekend for Rugby World Cup in Auckland.... I was mad. Then a ray of light. The 4 & Rotary Supershow was on, the same weekend. WOOO.

Random Snap - Blue EG on Hutt Motorway

Kane and I went to visit Craig so he could spend his time cleaning Kanes ute (shot bro!). By 3.30pm the sun was beating down hard, and looked amazing on the refreshed paintwork of the Ute. We hopped back in the truck to head back to town, and the Civic below followed us along the Motorway. I signalled at him with the camera and directed a mini photoshoot using only hand gestures. We bloody fun hanging out the window of the ute snapping shots off as the Civic darted around us.

Here's a couple of shots.

If anyone knows the owner of the car/if the owner is reading this - hit me up for a hi-res copy if you want it. Cheers for the photo-op, GC!

Get Obsessive about Vehicle Security

So with all the car thefts and break ins that have happened recently. I thought it was about time to get an alarm installed in the Bwarp Appliance.

But who do you talk to in Wellington when you want an alarm? Julian at Obsessive Vehicle Security, that's who.

Julian had recently got in touch to tell me about a new alarm that Cobra are releasing that works with the normal Nissan door remotes that came with the Cube3 (and any other car that came with factory central locking remotes). The Cube also has a proximity key which means you can have the keys in your pocket to open the doors. By just pressing the button located on the door handle with the proximity card in your pocket, the car unlocks. When you get into the car, you can start the car, also with your keys remaining in your pocket. Julian advised he could get all this to continue working with the standard remote, but he was now able to include a really loud alarm to tell intruders to GTFO - it also reduces the sting from my insurance company each fortnight.

Julian has an excellent reputation for car security. He's done alarms for me previously and also for other mates around town and I was sold on this Cobra alarm as it's what I'd be looking for all along!

I handed the keys over to him Wednesday night and the alarm was installed and finished early Thursday arvo. Julian even made the effort of coming to pick me up from work in Town in his Honda Beat. Choice wee car, amazing engine noise, I'm just a wee bit tall for it!

Upon getting the car back, Julian explained how the alarm works. how to arm disarm, and what features he'd enabled. The alarm is the Cobra 4600. It hasn't been released yet as it still being tested by installers (hence Julian wanting to test its features in the Cube). It's got a wireless siren - so no need to run a hole through the firewall. It has Ultrasonics (air pressure sensors). It's also fully programmable by plugging it into a computer via USB to turn on and turn off various features, change beep noise etc.

As usual Julian did a superb job. The siren and alarm module are well hidden. The LED's in the dash board are seamlessly integrated. The ultrasonics (air pressure sensors) are fitted like they would have been from factory, and the colour even matches the rest of interior (WIN!)

Tidy install of LED's into factory switch blanks.

As usual, was a superb job by Julian. A shoutout must also go to Cobra for letting the Cube be the test pilot for their new fangled alarm.

For all your alarm needs in the Wellington area - Get in touch with Julian at Obsessive Vehicle Security. 0212 4 ALARM

Burgerfuel Meet 28 Sept 2011 PICTURES!

Photos have been put back up after some light editing

The feedback I've been getting about the meets themselves is superb. Everyone coming is stoked, and Baz and the Team at Burgerfuel are also stoked. It's just stokedness* all round.
*not a word right?

So anyway - probably had a bit over 30 cars rock out to this meet.

Pics as follows of a select few of them:

Burger Fuel Meet - Next up: Wednesday 28/09/2011

Next Burgerfuel meet is going down on Wednesday 28/09/2011.

Meet at 7pm at Johnsonville Woolworths car park (At the Burgerfuel end)
Eat at about 7.30pm

Daylight savings will have kicked in by then too, yo - so should be warmer and lighter. WIN!

Usual rules apply. No skids, drunk pricks, or boneheads. And please don't VTEC/hit boost when entering the car park, you look like a nub.

I have also acquired a few JDM goodies to give away on the night. So be there with a clean ride, a good attitude and your game face on.

Pics and yarning afterwards.

See you there.

This is a recipe for a good evening, and the monthly meets are always sure to please.

Showed my face at Septembers meet, and convinced my lil bro to come out with his old Mitsi Mirage.

Road and Track Day, Manfeild, 27 August 2011

Manfeild. The place to seperate the boys from the men. and the women from the boys too I guess.... bu that's not all that hard usually.

Anyway - Road and Track day. A few of the boys were going up to do some sweet laps of town... i mean... laps of the track. So I followed on up in the Cube (no it didn't make it on the track).

Sean and I snapped some photos whilst there for all the punters who couldn't make it.

Juiced Track Day - Taupo 21/08/2011

A friend, Sean, had the opportunity to get out to the Juiced track day at Taupo Motorsport park. He took some excellent photos, so I thought it'd be worth him doing a write up to share the day with all of us who couldn't be there. Words and pictures all credit to Sean Clarke. Chur bruddah. Let's hope he stays on as guest contributor/photographer.

So we packed up the camera gear and headed down to Taupo Motorsport Park to attend the Juiced Track Day held on the 21.08.11. Now this is the first time I have seen drifting face to face and boy was it an experience. You can watch as many video's online but nothing beats being there, hearing the RB's on the limiter, seeing tyres exploding and the smell of the smoke.

Slammed box

Here's a couple of pics of the Bwarp Appliance from when it was fitted with RSR TI2000 springs (meant for a K12 Micra/March). I was expecting a 35mm or so drop, and they ended up being closer to 60mm.... Gotta love tardme deals.

Snapped a few pics before our substandard roading made me raise it back up to normal height. The sills were very thankful as they took a hiding, as did the exhaust manifold which is on a super shitty angle from factory.

There's nothing quite like the exhaust note of a worked 1275cc British engine with a hot cam and a straight through exhaust. This really is a car that goes BWAAARPPP.

Some EF love

Ohai, Geoff here. (Yes my other article is coming along very soon... I've been busy) I was reading through a Honda Civic Wagon (HCW) build at work (as ya do) when I came across a very nice flickr account that got my bits moving. Usually when you come across a flickr account, it's just some guy with a DLSR taking photos of his mates cars that are alright but nothing special really (*cough*), but once in a while there's one that catches your eye.

Here's just a sample of a few pics that I really enjoyed but the link to the rest of the photos are here
